- 28 Years of Nightmares in My Old House -

This is the true story of the strange events that took place in the big, scary old house I grew up in. Throughout my 28 years living in this old house, I've seen and heard things that can not be explained. To this day I still have nightmares about the weird incidents which have been burned into my memory. I've had many sleepless nights that would lead up until sun rise when the birds start to chirp.

There are however many things in the house that can be dismissed, such as the heat coming on making thumping noises and hissing as the steam comes out of the radiators, the ominous howl of the wind passing under the doors in the attic and the creaking noises as the house settled on the support beams in the basement. These noises were enough to scare my friends into believing me, but me, being the honest person I am, would tell them that these aren't the things to be scared of. I'm really a skeptic and always try to come up with a reason as to why certain things happen. Too many people have seen and heard the same things that I have in this house. All the years dealing with these strange events has lead me to believe that this house is truly haunted.

The things to be concerned about were the eerie, dark shadows that would move about the house causing the temperature to drop, beds shaking in the middle of the night causing you to quickly wake up, scratching and thumping noises on the walls and ceiling, covers being forcefully pulled off of you, doors opening by themselves, things being moved to odd places, wind-like noises that sound like a group whispering, the cat and dog acting very defensive, quick glimpses of faded people and more.

Many of my friends in the past may have thought I was crazy, or didn't believe me. This changed after some of them stayed over and had a small taste of what I dealt with my whole life. School nights were the worst, especially when I had homework. Most kids are able to get a good nights sleep after finishing their homework, but me, I had to try to ignore the scratching noises, thumping, the bed moving and the odd whispering sounds moving about my room. After a night like that, and only being able to fall asleep of sheer exhaustion, I would be nodding off the whole time in school. My whole family had to deal with the same issues associated with the entity, or entities (not quite sure if it's more than one). Right now my Mom, sister and two nephews still live in the house. Things still happen from time to time, as they have in the past, which I may also add to this site.

I've looked at numerous books and websites about ghosts and the unknown. I find it kind of funny that a lot of the sites/books have what they call "orbs" in many of their pictures. I've seen numerous "orbs" in the photos I have taken in and out of my house. The part that I find to be funny is that I found out what these "orbs" are. It's dust (or water) particles so close to the camera lens that it causes them to be fairly large and transparent (because they blur out when too close to the lens). This can also be comparable to the gooey crud that you may get in your eyes. When a small piece of your eye goo hits a certain spot on your eye, it causes a blurry spot that overlays what you are looking at. As you blink, it causes the blurry spot to seem as if it is moving. This causes the illusion of a transparent object floating around. When you wipe your eyes, it often causes it to mysteriously vanish. I'm not saying that all these other sites are fakes or people who think everything is a ghost. I just find it odd how many of these sites have similar pictures.

If I ever catch anything on film, I will be sure to post it here. I don't believe in using special effects or edited photos to make people believe me. I may put an edited photo on this site to represent or simulate something I may have seen, but will always specify if it's not the real thing.
